RUX: Who are you?
Davey Barr. I was born and raised in Whistler, B.C. Growing up in Whistler, I spent most of my younger life ski racing and eventually competed on the World Cup Circuit for Ski Cross for 12 years (on the Canadian National Ski Cross Team for half of that time), earning multiple World Cup medals and a World Championship Bronze. I also had the pleasure of competing in the Olympics on home soil in 2010. Ending up 6th overall.
Now I have a garage renovation company here in Whistler called Goldbarr Garages. We have solutions for all your garage needs.
RUX: Describe your vehicle: make, model, etc.
2022 Mercedes Sprinter 144 diesel 4x4
Describe your favourite feature of your vehicle.
The 4x4 is great to have. But I do like hanging out on the roof scoping out the view.
Best location/adventure you've ever had with your vehicle?
Driving down the Baja and exploring the remote coast and beaches
Most epic stuck/breakdown/wrong turn?
We have been lucky so far. Knock wood
Any advice to someone thinking of getting into a custom adventure van?
Do a long trip in the van before to the finished layout.
